Welcome to The Ghana Wisdom Foundation Web Site!
GWF is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization run entirely by a team of volunteers. We aim to meet specific educational objectives for students and educators in both West Africa and America through a unique service-learning approach to aid. We have worked with schools, students, and organizations across America to raise thousands of dollars for numerous education-based projects in Ghana, and recently, we have expanded our operations to other parts of West Africa.
Incorporated in 2005, our work has been driven by three fundamental beliefs:
1. We live in a global community. This is no longer a debate – it is fact. Accordingly, we need to expand our ideas and definitions of "community." Until we do so, too many of the worlds problems will go unresolved.
2. Today's youth can have an enormous impact on serious issues across the globe.
3. Citizens of developing counties are their own experts, better equipped to evaluate, prioritize, and dictate their own needs and goals than any outside organization.
In order to maximize our efficiency we have relied heavily on technology, fiscal transparency, dedicated volunteers, and the integrity of all our partners worldwide.
We encourage you to take some time to explore our web site. Perhaps you would like to help out? Perhaps you have some friendly advice? We are always looking for both.
