Building and Construction Fund

Phase 1: Securing Land - Complete!

-February, 2006: GWF purchased two plots of land for Wisdom Academy's new school grounds. Two months later, Wisdom Academy, was able to raise funds for two more plots, making the new school grounds eight times the size of the current one.

Phase 2: Build A School Project - Donate Now

Capital Support, Donations, and Other Funding

-So far, GWF has received over $1,500 in general donations which have gone directly to Wisdom Academy. Those donations have gone to various projects such as building maintenance, school supplies, back paid teachers salaries, and other necessities.

-March 2005, Wisdom Academy introduced its own cultural club to the school after drums were donated to the school.

-August 2005: $500 was donated to Wisdom Academy. $300 of it was used to buy two classrooms much needed desks and chairs. The rest went towards GWF Sponsor A Student Program.

-January, 2006 - GWF board members visit Wisdom Academy bringing with them donations from America, such as books, chalk, teachers guides, and stuffed animals for the nursery students. Many other resources have been donated throughout the year.

GWF School Store

-The GWF School Store provides continual financial support for Wisdom Academy by selling hand made Ghanaian crafts and providing Wisdom Academy with 100% of the profits. The items to the right are two of the sold items. Check out the GWF School Store to see what hasn't been sold.

GWF Sponsor a Student Program

-The GWF Sponsor A Student Program has allowed 17 children to attend Wisdom Academy through scholarships. When you sponsor a student's education the student, the family, and the school benefit. Learn more about this program by clicking on the link provided.

GWF Volunteer Program

-January, 2006: GWF sends its first volunteer to Wisdom Academy. Since then, the GWF volunteer has had a steady stream of applicants and volunteers.

-Each volunteer pays a $100 donation fee. Unlike other volunteer organizations, GWF takes zero dollars from the applicants and instead turns over 100% of the program fee to the host schools, providing another source of continuous income for the school. To date, GWF has seen 300$ dollars from the program fees.

The future site for the new Wisdom Academy will be eight times the size of the current site, and will house classrooms for nursery through high school.

In August, 2005, $300 dollars was donated for the purchase of 30 desks and chairs.  Over 100 new desks are still needed.

Young students recieve gifts donated by people like you and brought to them by GWF volunteers.

Students who have benefited or wait to benefit from the GWF Sponsor A Student Program.  You can give the gift of education for a whole year to these students for 100$ a year.

Wheels For Wisdom Fund

In just 3 short months GWF was able to raise over $6,000 for the purchase of a school bus for Wisdom Academy. GWF has just sent the initial down payements for the bus. Less than $2,000 is needed in the next three months for the remainder of the payments. Emmanuel International School, Dodowa, Ghana

Emmanuel International School is GWF's newest partner school. Currently, both Emmanuel and GWF are working together to assess the school's needs and goals and how to best alleviate those needs and achieve those goals. GWF will be traveling to Ghana in February of 2007 to put several programs and funds into place. Check back with this page in the future to see what we have done for Emmanuel.
