Mission Statement Education for everyone... The Ghana Wisdom Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization created in 2005 that seeks to improve educational opportunities for schools, students, and teachers in both America and Ghana, while also promoting the concepts of global community and cultural appreciation. To achieve our mission, GWF has established three blanket programs that, although uniquely different, rely heavily upon one another to provide students and educators with educational opportunities that would otherwise be unavailable. In everything we do, GWF remembers that wisdom can only reach its full potential when it is shared. |

Achieving Our Mission... The GWF Partnership Program aims to bring together Ghanaian (and other nations of West Africa) and American schools with the hope of providing both sides with a unique learning opportunity. GWF staff and volunteers seek out exceptional Ghanaian schools that are in need of assistance. Dedicated educators, students, and schools in America are then encouraged to help these schools through service-learning efforts. In the end, Ghanaian schools receive much needed support and assistance while their American partners get to participate in a truly unique service-learning opportunity. This is truly, "Education for everyone." The GWF Volunteer Program recruits motivated individuals to take an active role in our operations. Interested individuals can travel to Ghana to help the schools first hand, volunteer from home to raise awareness and/or funds, participate in service learning projects and internships, or even become a part of the GWF team. The GWF Volunteer Program is essential in keeping GWF a 100% volunteer operation, and ensuring that the maximum percent of each donation goes toward helping the people who need them most, the schools. Our final program, Project Wisdom, is an embodiment of all our values: education, service learning, volunteering, multicultural studies, and social awareness. It is a three week educational journey set amidst the diverse landscape of Ghana. This program is for both American and Ghanaian students (ages 13-16) and seeks to not only educate, but to inspire the youth in a way that we (the GWF Board) were once inspired during our first trip to Ghana, a trip that resulted in the creation of GWF. A quick glance at our web site and you can see that there is quite a bit more to GWF than our three major programs. From our Home page, interested individuals can also access the GWF School Store. This store, in attempt to alleviate the financial burdens of our partner schools, sells authentic Ghanaian crafts and sends all profits back to the schools. The Learning Resources section features both a teachers and students guide, where thousands of on-line resources have been collected to help promote the ideas of multicultural learning, service learning, and education for all. The About Us section will provide people interested in joining GWF with essential information regarding the organization as well as a Pictures page. And of course, if you can't find something or have any questions, you can always Contact Us.In order for GWF to maintain our profitless approach we need you, the dedicated individual, to get involved.
