What makes GWF unique?

Emphasis on Education

GWF is a 100% volunteer operation, a collaboration of individuals who share a similar vision of making a small difference in the world through education. We come from different backgrounds and are all full time employees or students. GWF is not our job and never will be. It is our passion. This unique approach ensures that the schools and students who truly need the funds get the maximum support with each donation.

Education continues to be the guiding principle behind all of GWF's operations and programs. For example, volunteers travel to Ghana to learn about a new culture and improve the educational standards of others. Partner Schools must meet specific educational objectives in order to be eligible for funding to further improve their education. Young American students participate in service-learning projects to help solve Ghana's educational woes. Education...for everyone.

Lasting Solutions
Team Approach

GWF is not an emergency aid organization. We understand that immediate funding without a measurable outcome and a detailed plan of execution leads to temporary fixes and not lasting solutions. Therefore, GWF works hard to form long-term working relationships with all of our schools so that continued educational improvements, better learning opportunities, and sustainability are ensured.

 GWF strives to be a transparent organization. When donors or schools work with GWF, they are given an open look at our entire organization and we openly share all our information with them, financial and educational, successes and failures. This approach allows donors and schools to feel as though they are apart of GWF's operation and encourages them to stay connected with the Ghanaian schools they are helping, hopefully establishing long term relationships in the process.
